2006 was quite a year for me. My wife Kristen and I bought and moved into a new house. It was the first full year of having our daughter, Lili, who was born last December. It was the first full year of my new trading business which was also born last December.
Financially, it was a very difficult year for me. (A new house and a new child are notoriously expensive, and a new business is notoriously slow to create profits, all of which proved true.)
But I can't complain. I have a wonderful family, including our little dogs Elvis and Roy. Our lives are generally happy, despite moments of stress about all the usual things that families stress about. We have a beautiful home, great family and friends, and pretty good health. And I was finally able to set up my turntable again and listen to records that I haven't listened to in close to a decade. Yes, records. Remember those?
I have some reflection to do, to consider how I could be a better husband, father, and business partner. All in all I don't think I did a bad job in 2006, but there is always room for improvement.
So, I wish you all a happy, healthy, and successful 2007. Please keep reading and writing, and remember the important priorities in your own life. You only live once (or is it twice?) so let's all do the best we can.
All the best from our family to yours,
Ross
