An interesting study on charitable giving

Bank of America has done a fascinating study on the charitable giving of high net worth individuals. Their summary is here: http://newsroom.bankofamerica.com/file.php/mr_bankofamerica/spinsite_docfiles/293/BAC+Study+of+HNW+Philanthropy_102606.pdf An article about the study, in the Christian Science Monitor: America the charitable: a few surprises http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/1127/p01s01-usec.html A couple of the interesting findings are that high net worth individuals claim their giving would not be affected by repeal of the estate tax and would be only modestly affected by losing income tax deductibility, and that "conservatives are better givers than liberals" (according to the CSM article...I didn't see that part myself in the study summary.)
