At the recent Cato Institute event awarding their biennial Milton Friedman Prize (which comes with a half million dollar award), the keynote speaker was New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

His 30-minute speech is a triumph of Republican leadership, and an object lesson for an approach which should be taken, or at least considered, by Republican governors and candidates across the country.

That speech should be the keynote at the repub convention.is important to note when he said real cuts from the budget, not cuts from the growth of the budget. Essentially, it was 10% of the budget in real cuts. The republican congress can barely get 350 million of the growth in budget out of 4 trillion dollars.
